About Us

We opened our doors here in San Marcos in August of 1999 with only a handful of students, but with enough vision for 200. Our goal was to establish a professional studio that offered quality dance training in a safe, family environment. With the support of our community, our students, and their families, we have achieved that goal. We believe it is important that children experience the world of the performing arts. Not only does dance provide physical exercise, but also a vehicle for self-expression and creativity. We strive to impart not only proper terminology and steps to our students, but also the love of the art. Our studio has grown now to over 200 students and we remain dedicated to providing our dancers with the most professional and up to date training.

Katherine Wolff-Grote, owner and director of The Pointe Dance Studio, has danced for over 20 years. She began her dance education in Arizona and has studied with some of the foremost teachers in the United States. She is a former professional ballerina with The San Francisco Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet in New York, and Ballet Arizona. She has toured extensively throughout the United States and Mexico. Mrs. Wolff-Grote has won numerous awards for her choreography and technical ability. She is sought after by many prestigious dance companies to teach master classes and judge dance competitions. Katherine is certified to teach by several professional dance organizations and has been teaching for over sixteen years. Mrs. Wolff-Grote is married to Jason Grote, owner of Corridor Cab. Together they welcomed their beautiful daughter Josephine Faye into the world on May 09, 2005. They are excitedly awaiting the debut of their second child in August of '07.
